A few of my favorite tools

These resources serve me well. You might find them useful, too. Many are free. All are worth the money.

Constant Contact offers a great service for publishing enewsletters, announcements, holiday cards, etc. What I like about using a service like this - I don't have to manage the database and mailing mechanics or worry about the spam regulations. They take care of it for me. And they provide the statistics I want to see,

Survey Monkey provides an easy way to survey your target audience. Surveys are free for up to 100 responses. I use it to capture feedback from my clients, for workshop evaluations, and I even used it to survey my home town for the Comprehensive Planning Committee. The results come to you in detail and summary fashion -- you don't have to do the counting.

Read Please: Software that reads your highlighted content to you. There's an easy-to-use free version that's great and a heavy duty paid version that includes a browser toolbar. Use the free version whenever your are writing or proofing a document. Just copy your text and paste it into Read Please.


Mind Tools - a good reference site - it outlines life and career skills like goal setting, and stress management, techniques that improve creativity, assist problem solving, organize time and deadlines, and improve your memory.


Cogitum C-Citer an invaluable free tool for capturing text when surfing the net. It captures the selected text, its Internet address, its title and the current date, lets you note your comments and store it all folders of your choice. A must-have if you research anything. They also have a tool for capturing images.
